LARS ERIK FALK

exhibition view, Konstruktiv Tendens, 2009.

Lars Erik Falk is one of the relatively few visual artists in Sweden who have adopted the expressive methods of Concrete Art, developing through consequent adherence to the approach a personal idiom. He has thus contributed actively to this now tradition-laden artistic current and its international renewal. With his streamlined focus on the diagonal theme, Falk is currently the leading proponent other than Baertling of the aesthetics of open form. Following a succession of important exhibitions, Lars Erik Falk has executed a variety of critically acclaimed public commissions in recent years, such as the richly evocative Färgtornet ("Tower of Colors") in Stockholm.
